Orioles Sweep Major Titles

In a season like any other, with the combining of Midway and Capitol Little Leagues and the late start to the season due to the pandemic, the Orioles swept both titles in the Major Division.
In the regular season, the Orioles jumped to a 7-1 start, before losing 3 straight games(two to the Phillies) to put the Phillies in first place.  But the Phillies lost their last two games, opening the door for the Orioles(8-4) who won their final game to take the title.  In the Phillies(7-5) last game, they took a 6-0 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning before the Mariners(7-5) scored 7 runs for the dramatic win.  If the Orioles lost their last game, the Mariners would have won the tiebreaker for the title.  The Mariners started the season with a 1-5 record before winning their last 6 games.
In the playoffs, the #1 Orioles used shutout pitching by John Nich and Luca Brown and scored 13 runs in 3 innings to beat the Dodgers on the mercy-rule, 13-0.  Meanwhile, the Phillies edged the Mariners 9-6 on great pitching by Tyler Protas and two home runs by Justin O'Connor.  In the championship game, the Orioles pounded 7 hits and scored 9 runs in the first inning and coasted to a 13-3 mercy rule (5 innings) win over the Phillies.  John Nich was the complete game winning pitcher.  Jayden Brown went 4 for 4 and scored 4 runs.
